International Teaching Diploma

Teacher supporting a learner with a laptop in an academic setting
Course overview

The International Teaching Diploma is a flexible online professional-development pathway for aspiring and practising educators who want a broad foundation across early years, primary teaching, Montessori practice, child development and inclusive education.

Rather than focusing on one classroom method, the programme brings together several areas that commonly shape day-to-day teaching. Learners study how children develop, how teachers plan supportive learning experiences, how classrooms can be organised for different needs and how professional judgement influences communication, observation and assessment.

  • Written assignments, lesson-planning tasks or case-based activities at higher levels
  • Tutor feedback on submitted work where the selected pathway includes written assessment

Course Support

Academic support is available Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm. Learners may also send questions by email or WhatsApp outside those hours, and the support team will respond as soon as possible. Each learner is assigned a tutor who can clarify course content, answer programme questions and provide guidance during study.

Certification

Certification depends on the level selected. London College of Teachers issues the relevant professional certificate or diploma. Where a selected Diploma or PG Diploma is specifically offered under the LCT–PUIE academic partnership, the current joint-certification arrangement is stated during admissions and should be confirmed before enrolment.

Career relevance

How this course may support your professional development

The programme can support professional development for roles in early years, primary education, learning support and related education settings. It does not by itself replace a teaching licence, degree, visa requirement or employer-specific qualification where those are required.

Important: Professional-development courses should not be assumed to replace a degree, teacher licence, regulated qualification, visa requirement or employer-specific credential where one is required.
