Teacher Answers are drafted by the London College of Teachers Academic Team and reviewed through a separate Editorial Review Board process. The reviewer role is deliberately separated from the author role so that factual scope, claims, cautions and source quality are checked before publication or update.
Our editorial principles
Say what a course does, and what it does not do
Professional-development courses are not described as automatic teaching licences, visas, regulated qualifications or guaranteed employment.
Prefer primary and official sources
When an answer touches licensing, recognition, immigration, public regulation, data protection or another rule that can change, we prefer government, regulator or other primary sources.
Separate guidance from promotion
Teacher Answers are written to answer the question first. A relevant LCT pathway may be shown afterwards, but the answer should remain useful even if the reader does not enrol.
Date and update material
Pages show a review date. Higher-risk content should be revisited when official requirements, licensing systems or education policy change.
Author and reviewer roles
Written by: London College of Teachers Academic Team. The writing team prepares learner-facing explanations and course-selection guidance.
Reviewed by: London College of Teachers Editorial Review Board. The review process checks whether claims are appropriately qualified, whether important distinctions are visible and whether official sources are included where needed.
LCT does not publish a named individual reviewer on a page unless that person has actually reviewed the material and has authorised publication of their name and role.
Source hierarchy
- Government departments, statutory regulators and official public registers.
- Primary institutional documentation from the relevant awarding, licensing or professional body.
- Established international organisations where they are the appropriate authority for the topic.
- Secondary sources only when primary material is unavailable or additional context is genuinely useful.
Corrections and scope
If an official rule changes, LCT may update the relevant guidance page and review date. Country and career guidance is educational information, not legal, immigration or licensing advice. Learners should confirm current requirements with the relevant authority and employer before relying on a qualification for a regulated purpose.
